Well, the title says it all really.
Can anyone tell me how to export an m2t file from a HDV timeline in PP2.0.
I can not see the option anywhere and I do not think it creates one when exporting to tape.
Thanks

It creates one temporarily. You can create one with Adobe Media Encoder. I haven't taken the time to figure out the exact parameters though.

If you start exporting to tape and then disconnect the camera while the program is creating the temp file, you will get an error message. Before you acknowledge the message, have Windows Explorer ready to rename the file so when you do acknowledge the message, it can't find the file so you get to keep it.

It has 10 dead seconds before the media starts, but it is the exact file that would have been put on tape, so it works great for archiving if that is your purpose.

Steven,

Thanks for that I intend on burning a DVD direct from these files. A collection of M2T's as different chapters in a DVD. In this case the 10 seconds at the beginning would be problematic. I cant see Adobe media encoder anywhere that says m2t.. if only i knew where it was (or if it was there) this would totally solve my problem
