Hi,

Recently I built myself a HTPC. Main goal is to watch my own films without the need of HD-DVD or BluRay. I have a motherboard with HDMI out - BUT I have some overscanning issues using computer HDMI to my PLASMA 42".

Connecting computer VGA to VGA In on plasma works very well - I get 1024*768 native and can show "720p"(more or less). But I'd like to hook up the computer to my receiver. And I'm all out of HDMI IN on that one(only got 2). So I wondered if I could buy a VGA -> Component and get decent results? I have hooked up the sound wire using an optical Toslink and that works great.

Comments?

If I am understanding you correctly you are wanting to buy a vga > component cable to hook your computer up to your tv using the component jacks. this will not work without the use of transcoder. http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/vga-rgb-component.html#transcode
