I've been working in 24p for a while and I wanted to see if I could get a clearer explanation of what's going on. I read the explanation that is in the Vegas online information (vegas 7), and it isn't really that clear. I see that you need to add pull down for some stuff but I didn't get it.

So it seems that there are 2 options:

1. you add 2-3 pulldown if you are going to use the rendered video for going to tape or DVD - is that correct.

2. You add 2-3-3-3 pulldown if you are going to use the rendered video in another vegas project.

Am I getting it right? In all cases, it seems to get the highest quality audio, you should render your audio to PCM. Correct?

Thanks - it's just a bit confusing.
I appreciate any clarification that I get.

I don't do 24p but here are two good (and free) resources for you.

#1. http://www.david-jimerson.com/Vegas24pBasics.zip

#2. 24p and Panasonic AG-DVX100 and AJ-SDX900 in Vegas and DVD Architect (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=511) (PDF paper).
