I am planning a moonrise time lapse in 2K. Any tips? Settings for smooth motion (not to fast)?

150 is pretty smooth

Have you considered shooting the time-lapse with a digital still camera? You'll have great quality, consistent exposures (if you shoot manual), and a better choice of focal length.

Hi David,

I shot some moon stuff a few weeks ago with the 2K mini
I captured every 10th frame - it ended up a bit too slow for me but it does depend what you want it for. On playback the moon took 1min 20 sec to pass from bottom of frame to out of the top but was very smooth and the detail was great.
I was using a 135mm 2.8 Nikon lens. It was the longest lens I had, I would have liked to be closer (180mm or even a 300mm maybe, then the moon would have moved faster through frame)
Next time I'll probably try around every 15th frame with the 135mm

Thanks for the input guys. I will have to rent a few lenses for this one (300 and up). I’ll let you know how it goes.
