I'll admit I didn't search on this, but I was curious if anyone had attempted it. What I'm curious about is using the time lapse (in this case in Premiere 6.0) to capture 24P. For example setting frames per minute to 1440 frames per minute. I've used it for a 2 or 3 second clip before, just trying it out and it seems to work OK. What I'm wondering is, am I truly capturing at 24P and am I in any danger of overheating my CCDs or something else potentially damaging to my GL1? Obviously this would affect mobility, but depending on the project I'd be willing to do the "time lapse" with some sort of combo (ie. iBook to firewire drive). Thanks.

I did some tests with Time Lapse stuff using the DVX100. I ended up using Premiere to capture the footage in a Time Lapse mode. I think it turned out okay. You can check it out here:

Perhaps I failed to make my question clear. My intention is not to shoot time lapse and render it out as 24P. My intention is to take the time lapse feature of an NLE (Premiere is the one I have experience with) and try to record 24P right onto the hard drive. So whereas Premiere (in traditional use) would let you hook up the camera via firewire to the computer and then Premiere would control the camera and capture a progressive frame once a second or minute (whatever you felt was appropriate), I would like to connect the camera via firewire and have Premiere capture 24 progressive frames per second (ie. 1440 per minute). I am using a GL-1 and I'm curious if anyone has tried this or had any luck with it? Thanks.

It seems like that would be equivalent to capturing regular footage and then later converting it to a 24P file using the NLE software. Unless I'm missing something.
