Hello,
sorry if this is not the right place to post this, but I figured it is the most relevant.
When I import 50i footage from my Canon XHA1 (PAL) in After Effects, is the file upper or lower field? I know that DV footage is lower field, but what about HDV?
For 25f, can I turn "separate fields" off completely?

Thanks

HDV is upper field first.

Thanks Ervin.
Does it make any difference if I choose "Separate fields: OFF" over "Separate fields: UPPER" for 25p footage?

This seems to be something specific to your Canon camera and it's progressive formats and/or compositing in AE - I've always been a Sony person and haven't done much in AE either, so I have no idea what are you talking about.

Stathis, i suggest u use separate fields OFF with the A1 if you film 25F. The video shot in that mode works as 25P. And you forget about interlace issues.

I own Canon XHA1 and HV20. Edit material from both in proressive mode (sep fields OFF) and i get wonderful results.

Hope it helps
