I want to capture an hour long continuous take from a concert. Do I just do a normal capture or do I need special settings. Thanks.

it can't be said without knowing what camera you have, what the lighting situation is, sound, position to stage, stationary, is there a rehearsal..? and so on

I'm asssuming this is already shot.
If that's the case, then yes, a straightforward capture is all you need to do.
If it hasn't been shot, then, as Karl suggested, we need more information.
I've done numerous shoots of plays & other assorted events that were up to 4 hr. long.
I've done this both to tape and hard disk (sometimes both simultaneously) with no problems whatsoever.
Drop the project on a Vegas timeline and edit away :-)

Just do it the normal way.

2- This may not work if you are capturing to a FAT32 file system (e.g. most external drives, by default, are formatted that way). You'll need to change the capture settings in that case (to limit the file to like 3.9GB... don't do 4GB because you can't put markers into the clip; the limit might be 1.9GB/2GB, I can't remember).

Format your drive as NTFS and you can have a big a video file as you like and not be limited to 4gb. Remember though that if you plan on transferring file to another drive at some point, they will have to have NTFS formatted drive as well.
