Has anyone tried to use the EX1 with a single element wide-angle converter (Raynox, Aspheron, Red Eye, Century etc) on the camera's Fujinon lens? I ask because I didn't have much success when I tried this at the Sony stand at the IOV forum last month - although admittedly I din't have much time with the gang of onlookers all wanting to get their sticky mitts on the beast.

Sony do sell a pretty feeble 0.8x, but that's simply not wide enough for me.

tom.

Nothing Century will work at this time because we don't make 77mm screw in threads. The HVX200 attachments would be the closest but its a boyonet mount. Short of Duct Tape and too much free time, I would suggest you check out our new attachments coming in 5 or 6 weeks.

You do however make a wide angle adapter with 82mm threads. Will a step-up ring not work with this application?

I am not currently aware of any attachments we make with 82mm threads. Everything we make for the HVX200 is a bayonet lock. We do make some broadcast attachments which use an 85mm clamp and can have an 82-85 step ring inserted but this would be heavy and cost prohibitive.
