Everyone rants and raves about how beautiful and wonderful h264 renders out video but I am still scratching my head. Every time I use it the image gets very washed out. I understand it is worlds smaller file size wise, but the image looks so much worse than an avi. Can anyone chime in on this and set me straight? Will it always look washed out?

Nathan:
Better state your specs, OS, editor, and where the codec is derived from. I ve noticed similar issues trying to edit and render on PC side using Quicktime codecs, and I'm guessing it extends to H264 stuff.
