I am going to start adding video to my photography as an add on, not replacing a videographer, but replacing uncle Jed...

I have both the XH A1 and the HV20 but wondering about matching color, the HV20 is more saturated and I am wondering how hard this will be to combine the two cameras.

Can this be done or do you recomend dumping the HV20 and getting another XH A1?

Thanks

Hi -

I use both cameras together. I increase the saturation of the A1 in the camera, and use the HV20 with flat settings. They usually match pretty well. A little correction is not difficult in post.

That said, the biggest problem when shooting inside is the inability to really control the gain of the HV20, and the resulting grain. Because of this, I'm getting another A1.

Happy shooting!

Thanks Bill, I just ordered a second XH A1, this post pushing me over the edge and I am seeing more and more of our customers wanting both video and photography from the same photographer, or studio. I feel this is the way wedding photography is going.
