I have always captured the HDV footage from my HV20 to my PC using
HDVSplit. The m2t files are then burned to DVD+R/DVD-R, or DVD+R DL
for playback on the Sony Playstation 3. I've never had a problem usnig
this method and the result looks really amazing on my HDTV.(at 1080p)
However, the files are usually 3GB or 4GB for each clip/scene. It won't
work if a single clip is 4GB+ to 8GB in lenghth(limit for a DVD+R DL disc)
I've tried buining the disc as ISO and UDF. Neither worked. The PS3
just kept saying "file is corrupted" or simply doesn't see the file at all.
My work-around is to divide a single 8GB m2t file from my HV20, which
results in two 4GB files. I burn the two 4GB m2t files on a DVD+R Dual
Layer disc and the PS3 plays them without any problems. (but it will
only play one clip at a time)
If anyone has successfully playing a single 8GB m2t file from the HV20
on a Playstation 3, please let me know how you managed to do this...
Thanks in advance for your help! :)
