Does anyone know if you digitize in imovie with footage shot with the Panasonic DVX-100 - can you import to Final Cut Pro 4 and not have pull down problems?

I spent a lot of time capturing footage in imovie and then read that if you capture with the DVX-100 it automatically compensates for pulldown and 24fp. Will Cinema Tools fix this?

If I could avoid having to re-digitize again that would a God's send. Please let me know if I have any options.

is that movie at iflim made with the dvx100 or another camera?

iMovie will capture only 29.97fps. So Final Cut Pro 4 will import just fine.

What mode did you shoot your original footage in?

CELL PHONES & ACTION FIGURES on www.ifilm.com was shot with the Sony PD-150. But my new feature GERM OF A NEW INSANITY was shot with the Panasonic DVX-100 in the 24fp mode. I used the camera to digitize into imovie but I worry that
it won't compensate for pulldowns - 24fp vs. 30fp. Now that I have FCP 4 should I re-digitize into it or just import from imovie?

Any words of wisdom in regards to Cinema Tools?

The DVX has 2 24p modes, standard and advanced (see the resources at the top of this forum for more details).

If you shot 24P standard, no problem.

If you shot 24aP (advanced), your footage may not be quite as smooth.

If you are trying to produce a 24p progressive DVD or go out to film, then you must redigitize in FCP 4 with Cinema Tools.

Also, I have read a lot about split frames and how you do not
want to edit on split frames because it will hinder your image.

Do you know anything about this? I have some great footage that's waiting to be edited but all this new technology is scaring me because it's all so new and unexplored.
