I recently completed a rather large project and have about 6 or 7 hard drives that have all the various assets that were used for the project. Now that I am done with the project I want to have everything on one hard drive for the sake of storing the master mix. Is there a simple way to tag all the files that are spread out on the 6 or 7 hard drives and are utilized in the veg file so I can simply move everything to the 1 hard drive in one fell swoop instead of having to go thru clip by clip, determining what drive it is on and moving it that way?

On a side note,...the project recently one Best Documentary at the Colony Film Festival and has been accepted in quite a few more that are happening in the next few months. It has been VERY well received by the various media outlets and film commissions we have submitted screeners to. Most of them ask whether I edited on Final Cut or Avid, and 99% of them are floored when I tell them I edited it entirely in Vegas...and those are only the people that have even heard of Vegas. So,...even though I had some very scary and nerve testing situations editing a project this big on a PC...kudos to Vegas for handling it.

Tagging - no.

However, when you "save as" a Vegas project there is a little check box in the lower left that states "copy and trim media with project".

When you check this option and save, you'll be presented with two options - copy all source media, or, create trimmed copies of source media, and if you select the second, you can spec how many seconds of preroll/postroll you want included.

It will also copy media that's in the project media list but not on the timeline, fyi, so, you might want to clean up the list first.

If you want all your media that was captured it's important to not clean up the project list. I don't know how it deals with nesting, suspect that you'd need to do the same process for nested projects.
