Hi. I need wmv file.
Render a hdv m2t file to WMV9, the black just disappear.
The video has less contrast than the original. Is this normal.
Black will grey :(
what's the solution? i go to higher bitrate, but doesnt help.

Don't know the answer to your problem. But your Glidecam footage is great!

I believe it's the Windows Media Player, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
I noticed the free VideoLAN player produces way better colors and contrast

Unfortunately, it does not like wmv files. The Sony EX1 mxf files (or EX1 mp4) look great using VideoLAN.

You may want to hunt down the free Windows Classic software. IMO, it's far better than the current Windows Media Player.

Check that the video overlay settings on your video card is not affecting your video.

Glenn brings up a good point.
VideoLAN and WMV are both using overlay, but for some reason VideoLAN looks better... I'm not sure why?

Some of the players may do additional image processing like image enhancement tricks. Perhaps if you go into the videoLan settings you can turn them off?

Also, videoLAN may not actually use a video overlay. (e.g. Vegas doesn't as far as I know)

thanks, overlay was the problem.
when i close another application, that uses overlay, mediaplayer classic show the blacks of my video :)
so be careful, not to use more than one program which use overlay.

Jeff: thanks ;-) do you have r/b glass?
