I might be doing post production using footage being shot with a HVX 200 using the P2 card. This will be the first time for me edting on my personal G5 MAC with HD footage (I've primarily worked with SD from my XL2). As I'm researching more to make sure I'll be up to speed with the system I own and studying the best work flow, I was also wondering what every 60 seconds of video amounts to in Megabites from clips such as that?

Thanks ahead of time.

Joe

Please clarify your question. Are you asking how big a P2 file will be? That depends entirely on which recording setting and frame rate you select.

The formats are the following: DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO 50 *like digiBeta, DVCPRO HD 720p,1080i.

Hope this helps.

Christopher, thanks for your question. HD is so foreign to me at the moment. As you can probably assess with my ignorance on this subject, I have a lot of research ahead of me!! There is still info I'm needing to get from the people who will actually be shooting with the camera, but I can probably be safe to say DVCPRO HD. I doubt it'll be shot interlaced, but, just in case, how big would 60 sec. clips be either with 720p, or maybe 1080i (in case it is interlaced)?
And am I correct in saying that the color ratio would be 4.4.4 when using the P2 Card, but I can only edit in 4.2.2?
