I have no idea what made me do it, but I've just bought a Canon HV20.
It arrived 24 hours after clicking a button on Amazon.
60 Minutes later, I have this:

It's not art. It's not even particularly good. But I have never, in 20 years, had such an amazing out-of-box experience (iPhone a close second). Given the brief "film what's in front of you", with a strange and new camcorder... well, I wasn't expecting this.
It's a pint-sized HVX-200 at less than the cost of a P2 card. A videographer's sketchbook.
