Hi all,

I searched the forum and it appears that, other than a few sony HDV decks and some other camcorders that will playback 60i only, the only deck that will playback H1 HDV recorded tapes in all of its frame rates is the H1.

It appears that canon has lumped the H1 with all the other consumer camcorders in that the playback deck is the camcorder.

Am I correct?

Incorrect.

There are three playback decks available for the XL H1. Each one is so advanced, it includes a lens and microphone and can actually be used as a camcorder in a pinch. These decks are the Canon HV10, HV20 and HV30.
