View Full Version : ¼ 20" screw Randy Strome March 2nd, 2008, 10:26 AM Someone at Zacuto had mentioned a ¼ 20" screw insert on the top of the EX1 which could be used in combination with http://store.zacuto.com/product.php?productid=191&cat=0&page=2 for monitor mounting. Am I missing it? Definately will not hold a monitor. Has anyone tried levering the silver leaf spring thing out of the cold shoe? There might be a tapped hole under there. I doubt it though and I think Zacuto are getting confused with the Z1 where you can remove the cold shoe and use the threaded hole to mount a variety of arms via the 1/4" 20tpi hole. I did not want to get out a jewelers screwdriver and start fiddling around without knowing for sure first. They do make a hot shoe mount , but I am unsure as to how much weight the hot shoe is really meant to support. Any thoughts? Piotr Wozniacki March 3rd, 2008, 08:03 AM Guys, get real! Even if there WAS a hole under the hot shoe, do you really believe it'd be a good place to fix your monitor to? I mean, even my Sony LED lamp (mush smaller and lighter than any serious monitor) causes the whole mic housing to flex and bend with any serious movement...And remember, it's also the LCD compartment!
