Im about to start grading some footage shot with my ex1 on 1080p HQ and colour precision is very important. The project is a music video which when edited and graded will be printed off onto digibeta tape for broadcast. My question is this, what monitor should i go with to ensure that the colours i see infront of me are the colours the viewing audience will see, the monitors in question are:

JVC TM-H150CG (which i own)

or

a 1080p hdtv http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5364040/Trail/searchtext%3E1080P.htm (which i am willing to buy)

I know usually the idea is a broadcast monitor such as the JVC is the best way to go, however im not sure if that only applies to SD video and by using it to monitor hd footage i am not seeing the full range of colours im trying to affect. By using a hdtv am i going to be able to colour grade more accurately in comparison to the JVC? Or maybe a combination of the two can be of some use. I know its alot but ive done a few searches and found that people are using either one or the other but haven’t managed to find a comparison between the two.

For what it’s worth my stab at it would be to hook the hdtv up as a second display with a dvi to hdmi connector whilst at the same time have my jvc monitor hooked up via my deck/fire wire to monitor the footage simultaneously.

Any feedback would be a great help, Thanks
