I can’t for the life of me figure out how to display the clip name in the LCD screen during the record process. You can see timecode of course, but not the clip name. It would be so convenient to make notes about the clip by referencing its name while shooting and without having to go into thumbnail view to see what the name of a clip is.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,
Chris

None that I'm aware of. Sorry.

So how do you log in the field then? Seems a little short sighted to have a file based system without seeing the name of the file in the display. Is this not the whole reason we don't have to worry about timecode so much?
It would be nice to call of to an assistant "that's the good one, mark it down" and be able to tell him the name of the clip without going into thumbnail everytime.......

I think the PDZ-1 software allows a live connection to the camera while recording and allows logging etc - not tried it though. Of course, you also have to have a laptop connected, so may only be good for certain studio type shoots.

Enable shotmarks 1 and 2 in the menus. Then, enable the IR remote control by assigning the function to one of the 4 assignable switches. Hand the IR remote to the assistant and tell them to press shot mark 1 or shot mark 2 where ever they wish to tag a good or bad take.
