The time has finally come to upgrade to HDV.
I wanted to know what specs your computers have and how are they working out with Premier Pro CS3?
I am leaning towards using the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 but want some opinions on motherboard, case and any other tips. My budget is under 1500
Thank you.

If you go mac don't forget you can do a cross grade. Or if you still need to do an upgrade just by the mac upgrade.

Andre... I have an hp m8200n which works pretty well with hd. Here's the specs from the hp site.
- Athlon 64 X2 (W) 6000+ 3.0 GHz (89W)
- Motherboard: MCP61PM-HM
- Memory Installed 3 GB
- Maximum allowed 8 GB (4 x 2 GB) (64-bit OS)
- Speed supported PC2-5300 MB/sec
- Type 240 pin, DDR2 SDRAM
- Expansion slots
- PCI Two (One available)
- PCI Express x16 One (One available)
- PCI Express x1 One (None available)
- Drive bays
- 5.25" Two (One available)
- 3.5" Three (Two available)
I think I paid about $800 for the box, then added a .5TB internal secondary drive and a dual head video card. Something like this should fit your budget. I think this model has been superseded by a newer one. I also bought two 19' HP widescreen LCD monitors for about $250 each.
