Hi,

Just after some advice, looking to shoot some more wildlife, want to get a bit closer. Looking at buying a telephoto lens. Heard alot about the cheaper ones having alot of distortion and chromatic abbration, etc. Been also advised to only fit a Sony High Grade lens. Budget is a real concern, can't really afford too much at the moment but want to get one pretty soon.

Are there any recommendations of cheaper convertors you can point me in the right direction, bearing in mind that the HG1758 is still a bit expensive for me, and lens like the Century Optics are way out of price range, what should I look at getting?

Thanks in advance people!

Russ

The HG1758 is a solid brick of a telextender and works pretty well for me. I paid $369. (U.S.) for it 4 years ago, but I believe you can find it for about $100. cheaper now. I don't think any of the competitors' telexes of this type are as good. I also use the Raynox DCR-2020PRO on my VX2100, which is a 2.2X telex and should cost about $200. or less. It is very sharp optically, but is only for full-zoom shots, as it causes vignetting below about 90% of full zoom. It's a different type of telex, as it's much longer than the HG1758, although it actually weighs less.
