Q: How is it powered? I quote "Power supply via camera, no extra battery needed". Do you know? I have a XL H1, with AB batteries (gold mount). So I've lot of time to find out how it's powered!
View Full Version : Mini35c (compact) Jonas Nystrom March 14th, 2008, 08:35 PM Q: How is it powered? I quote "Power supply via camera, no extra battery needed". Do you know? I have seen the Mini35 compact at a product demo here but regret I did not study the power system. I imagine it may be a power tap from a bridge which has a dummy battery on one face and a battery receiver on the other and fits in between the battery and the camera. Tino Liberatore at P+S is moving on to another career and his successor is Philip Vischer whose email is vischer@pstechnik.de Maybe drop Philip an email question. I have sent him a link to this post. He or a respondent from the US reseller who is a dvinfo.net sponsor may also pop up here with an answer for you. Nick Hiltgen March 20th, 2008, 04:06 AM According to the ZGC website (and what I remember from seeing it at cinegear last year)... "Power supply via the camera. No extra battery needed" So you can keep you AB port free to power some other device (like a monitor!) Jonas Nystrom March 21st, 2008, 03:19 AM From Simon Schleidt, PS-technik Good News: "Originally the compact is powered by a plate that fits in-between your canon battery and the battery compartment (sandwich). The other possibility would be a cable (#24038) to get the power out of the Anton Bauer battery or battery-compartment by a power tap plug." Bad News: The delivery time for mini35 Compact is 6 weeks and subject to prior sale. But it doesn’t mean that it must be that long. Of course we deliver as soon as possible and if we can, we will deliver sooner. Oleg Kalyan March 21st, 2008, 04:37 AM I was at Moscow TV and Media exhibition yesterday, P+S Technik was presented, I spoke to Philip Vischer and he gave me a promo DVD, below is the link related to Compact35 from DVD, http://olegkalyan.ru/_Quicktime/compact35web.mov Jonas Nystrom March 21st, 2008, 03:04 PM Thanks Oleg! I think the set-up looks really nice, and I assume you could use the Anton Bauer dummy in the P&S sandwich. Six weeks delivery is the major problem for the moment. Phil Bloom March 22nd, 2008, 12:34 PM it looks very reliable. love to try one out Jonas Nystrom March 23rd, 2008, 06:38 AM Phil have you tried the HZ-CA13U for your JVC 201?, Phil Bloom March 23rd, 2008, 09:53 AM the 16mm thingy? No had a play, but not tried it Mika Tertsunen March 24th, 2008, 02:38 PM Has any of you found out what is the price of the mini35 compact? I´ve been around the extremely confusing website of p+s technik and really haven´t got a clue. I remember once finding it but can´t recall the logic. Matt Ryan March 24th, 2008, 04:21 PM yeah its $8500.00 and you can find it at zgc.com Jonas Nystrom March 24th, 2008, 05:51 PM You can buy it directly from PS Technik for 6000 euro (not any cheaper then ZGC).
