I am sending an e-mail to someone showing them a few ways I do an effect on my mac but if I could take some screen grabs from my screen at the same time would leave it easier explained.
How do you do this on a mac.
Thanks in advance.

Apple+Shift+3 = Screen shot
Apple+Shift+4 = different modes of screen shot. Press spacebar to toggle between modes
Or use the program Grab (Applications > Utilities > Grab)
edit: forgot to mention that the screen shots go to the desktop if you use the above keyboard commands

You might also want to check out SnapNDrag, it can be handy for certain things. For example, Grab and the built-in screenshot utilities will not capture screens from DVD player. A couple days ago I wanted to do some screenshots from the archive video of one of our own operas (something which belongs to our company, not a commercial DVD). The Apple programs will not do screenshots from DVD player, regardless of the content.

Snapz Pro X (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/) is also a nice little tool.

I believe the free application MPEG Streamclip will do it. It will play back MPEG2 if you have the $18 MPEG components plug-in for QT.

There's also a great little Widget called "Screenshot Plus" - always ready via dashboard.
