I want to output the component out of the Canon A1 HDV to a 50" Plasma screen, which will be about 50 meters away from the camera. Does it make the video look bad due to the lengthy cable?. Or if I cut short the distance by 30 meters will it be OK?. Need advice from those who have experience with these
kind of work flow. Thanks in advance.

Great to see another Indian member here.

I don't think you'll find anyone here prepared to say categorically whether you can or can't.

It is so dependant on the driver (camera), the cable and the receiver.

The best I will say is, try it.

If you can live with it, job done.

If not, well, go to plan B.

If you use the best cable available you will get better results (within limits) but there comes a point where you're not actually acheiving anything for all the money you're spending.

Over 70 views, still no solutions. Will try it out in a few days.

I have run 125 feet using two 50-foot and a 25-foot, all with medium shielding. There was some ringing and ghosting artifacts. I ran the same cables in a different location and did not see any flaws at 1280x720 (downsampled from 1080p30 in a 1080i stream). I suggest a single length of heavily shielded cable.
