Hi everybody,

To this date I haven't noticed a rain cover specifically designed for this camera. Is there anything out there?

Hi Andrea,

Not sure if you're still looking, but Kata do a couple of rain covers that they list as working with the HVR-HD1000U/E. Their RC-1 and RC-10 Pro Rain Covers are available from various places online.

I'll be getting a RC-10 in the next couple of weeks myself, so I'll be able to say what I think once it arrives.

Have Fun,
Jim

I bought one last month from an ebay shop, Indikit, for less that £40 and it seems well made, with lots of adjustments etc. It's not specifically for the HD1000, but suits it well.

Wel, I got the Kata RC-10 and used it over the weekend while I filmed a 5-a-side football (soccer) tournament in the glorious Irish summer. The cover is nice and quick to put on, and with all the adjustments fits well. A fifteen minute heavy downpour with a driving wind (see? I said it was summer(-: ) showed it really is rainproof, keeping the camera dry even if the camerman got soaked...

I'm happy enough with the RC-10, and will gladly reccomend it to others.

Have Fun,
Jim.

PortaBrace just announced a new rain slicker specifically for this camera. It's about $200 at their website. I assume it is or will be available through B&H as well.

Edit: Not at B&H yet, but here's the PortaBrace web page for the product:
