I had a problem with my LCD going black a few months ago. It stopped working on a shoot for about five minutes so I stopped down and turned the power off. When I turned it back on, it was working again.

Today, I am having the same problem with the LCD not powering on. Only this time it isn't coming back on when I power down. Has anyone had a similar issue with the LCD going out? My next step is going to Panasonic, but I wanted to see if this is common.

Thanks,
John

There's a rather inconveniently-placed power-save feature that bites HPX500 users. IIRC, one of the switches on the camera body says "save", and that "save" is "saving" the LCD power. Flip that switch and your LCD should work again.

Barry, you are absolutely correct! I wasn't able to troubleshoot the problem on set because I wasn't there. I just picked up the camera from the crew today and the save switch was set to "on." The LCD works just fine.

Thanks for your help!!
