Just wondering if the HF10 will switch from the built-in memory to the memory card slot without interrupting a continuous shot? In other words, can it do a four hour continuous shot at the highest quality level using all available memory assuming you have a 16gb card?

Nope, unfortunately it will not split a clip between its internal flash memory and the SDHC card. However you could get a 32GB card and record 4 hrs 10 min at highest quality just to the card.
