After finally getting my laptop to connect to Canon Console and CS3 I've run into a rather strange problem. I can only connect to these programs when in the DV mode only on the camera. If I switch to HDV the laptop will not recognize the XL H1.

I so a similar post that suggested downloading the latest version of DirectX. Which I did. However, it did not help.

Any Ideas?

I had same problem with my tower and found out that my video in card is not up to the job. I have to go get another (they are recommending a card at 1,578 dollars) before I can import in HD - so SD is all I can do for now. I do not use Canon console, I import from within my editing suite. My card is where it falls over.
