I have always used Edius Pro for all my video work but I have a 53min clip shoot in 60i on my XH-A1 where I had no way out other then pumping up the gain and as expected the clip has noise (or a lot of grain). I don't believe Edius will provide me a fix to remove the noise (or grain)that I can see, so I was thinking about getting AVID as I was told AVID had very good noise removeal tools.
Also I was wanting to know if Adobe Premiere Pro could also provide noise removeal tools. I downloaded the demo but guess what "no HVD options and no wat to render a file such as an AVI to an MPEG 2
Please Help, I am stuck.

I don't know who told you that Avid has video noise reduction tools, but they are mistaken. There ARE plugins for Avid though that are for this. So it would be the cost of Avid software PLUS the cost of whatever plugins you choose.

I am glad I read this, I was going to get AVID only for the noise filter, I also have read that a filter called Neat would work a product called Visualdub, Any one know if that would work.

... I was going to get AVID only for the noise filter...

That's like buying a BMW just to use the gearshift knob :)

Get the NeatVideo plug-in:
http://www.neatvideo.com/

Here is the page with links to instructions for NeatVideo:
http://www.neatvideo.com/howtos.html

You can get it for several commercial apps or for the free VirtualDub.

Best thing out there.

What program's do you have? Do you have Premiere, AfterEffects, Vegas or Pinnacle Studio? If not use the free VirtualDub:

The only programs I have for video are Edius 4.6, Imaginate 2.0 and Ulead DVD Workshop 2.
Additional other programs are Sony Sound Forge 8, Acid Pro 6, Cinscore 1, CD 5.2 & DVD 4.0 Architect, Nikon Capture, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and AutoCad.

I did download Visualdub and Neat, I could open a conopus hq file clip stright into Visual dub.

Thank You for the links
