One thing that always worried me with the A1 stereo mic is its proximity to the external mic holder and any long mic I had mounted. Gotta be some reflections floating about there, especially if there's a furry windjammer on it. Anyone else concerned with that?

Cheers.

If there's a furry windjammer on the top mounted mic, there should be no reflections for the internal mic's to pic up.

Even without, the amount would be so miniscule as to be imeasurable, forget hearable.

If you're using the top mount, the internals ain't working anyway so no problems there either.

So no, absolutely no concerns there then.

Hi Chris, I meant leaving a long shotgun left sitting in the external mount while using the A1 stereo cam mic.

Anything that close to any mic would cause sound reflections especially if say you were indoors taping an acoustic group using the A1 stereo cam mic. (for which I'd use a better mic anyway)

The bottom line is, where else do Canon put the external mic housing and I agree they may be hard to hear, but they'd be there.
Cheers.
