Hi,
I just bought Cineform HDV, shot some 25p material with the HVR V1E and captured it with HDLink in After Effects (no deinterlace)
After Effects interprets it as 1440x1080 (1,33), Separating (Upper)
But I thought progressive material has no fields and therefore can't be 'upper' or 'lower'...? confused
should I tell AE that it is footage with 'Separate fields: off' or just go on with 'Separating (Upper)'??

Thanks,

Johan

ok, thanks david.
Now here's anotyher thing: I shot some other footage in 50i mode (also with the HVR V1E), captured it with CineForm an brought into after effects
in that case, separating fields (upper) should be the right way, no?
BUT if I render it out that way (photo jpeg, 25 fps) there's a lot of jerking going on
if I let AE interpret all my footage as 'fields off' and I render it looks al lot better
eh, what was my problem..? well.. I don't understand it! ..as I thought there ARE fields in 50i material..
maybe someone can illuminate
regards,
Johan
