Hi ! Does anyone have any suggestions / pointers on filming flowers at close range (different angles) ? Flowers have been one of my favorite subjects and now that I have my new pana 953, I'd love see how well she does with flowers.

Use a tripod, and zoom in a bit. Make sure there's lots of light.

As with still photography you'll probably find that flowers photograph well in powerful back light, long telephoto and wide apertures (to soften the background) and with dew drops of water strategically placed on the petals.

It's worth bracketing your exposures and choosing the best shot when viewed later on a good TV. Also a gentle breeze helps to add some life. Get down low, shoot from directly above, mix extreme wide-angles with telephoto, cut it to the music and surprise and delight the audience.

There's not a lot better than surprise and delight. We all love it, and so will they.

Pola filter brings out more color.

If you're trying to get still shots and the wind is blowing try a Plamp (http://www.tripodhead.com/plamp.html). It a clamp for plants. I use them for still shots and occasionally video.
