Hi everyone,

Quick question:

I have to shoot a event where there will be a camp fire and people will be sitting around it.
I have never done this kind of shot before, so requesting your suggestion in respect to:

1. Lighting
2. Tripod usage
3. or anything that will make the shot smooth.
4. Frame rate, gain, and or any technical issue i should take care while shooting.

I will be using XHA1.

The campfire will probably not put off enough light, and certainly not a consistent level for your needs.

When I shoot campfire scenes, I hang a china ball over head. (Obviously, not DIRECTLY over the campfire!) I white balance 'warm' to give everything that 'yellow' glow, then keep the fire burning. The overhead china ball gives off soft even light, and it's out of the way so I can work around the circle, getting even illumination on everyone's faces. The fire itself adds the 'flickering' effect.

Frame rate is your call. As long as you're getting enough light out of the China Ball, then it doesn't really matter - just shoot for the 'look' you want.
