do you guys need to 'decomb'/deinterlace with dv? never tried it before since i have hi8.

when you pan around really fast do you see blurring?

No. No fooling with the video at all. But I never had to do that with Hi-8 either.

Blurring is caused by a too slow shutter speed.

wow, what'd you use to capture?

i use the all in wonder 8500dv analog inputs and mmc 8.5 with the latest drivers (3.6). i get the problems that are described in the article i linked up above. they all have the 'interlaced' problem that i have to try and 'decomb'. you never had to do it? hmmm maybe your capture device did it automatically for ya?

I use Canopus DVRex which has analog inputs and a Sony hardware Codec on board. Analog or digital inputs are equally easy to capture.

I learned very early in my video business that time spent fighting the equipment is money lost. Hence the use of Canopus products. I've been using Canopus for over 4 years now and rarely have a problems associated with their equipment or software.

just checked the price on that board you're using. it's more than $1k. too rich for my blood... but then again you really do get what ya pay for eh? anyway i'm only an ethusiast, not pro... not even prosumer. not worth my money in my case. rather spend that on a xl1s. meanwhile thx 4help.

YOu can buy the M1 board used for around $350 or less today. The software is free (RexEdit) and the board will work with Premiere and MSPro if you have them.
