Hey guys, do you think this is a robust portable workflow? No dropped frames, etc...

HV30 -> HDMI -> (Magma enclosure + Blackmagic Intensity) + Macbook Pro + Firewire 800 + G-Tech G-Raid Mini???

If I use realtime capture using Cineform.

Thanks,
John

John, I don't think you need Raid if you capture with Cineform.

Regular 7200 rpm SATA HDD would do fine.

Also, I have 2 HD capture setups based on Intensity, one of them is mobile - it fits in the pelican case *including the 20" HDMI monitor* and a mini desktop PC.

Works great. I even powered it by the car battery on location, worked flawlessly. (You can see Newegg ad on our website; external scene was shot with it.)

Will sell it soon, since I have another one now.

Hehe you're selling your portable system? :)

I have 200GB 7200 rpm on my Macbook Pro. Cineform is about 80mbit/s right? So how much Cineform footage can I store per 100GB via realtime HDMI capture?

Cheers,
John

Roughly 30Gb/hour with the highest quality ("Large") Aspect HD setting, after 2:3 pulldown removal.

Probably a bit larger file size for Neo/Prospect HD.

This is on PC side with AVIs.
