Greetings,
I'm playing around with the Vegas 8 trial software and I can't seem to get clips in the timeline to snap to event media markers. I'm using a NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps) template with avchd MTS files from a Canon HF100. After I add event media markers to a clip in the trimmer I can see the markers on the clip in the timeline but none of the other clips will snap to the markers within the clip itself. The other clips will snap to markers on the timeline, the edge of clips, etc, but not to the event media markers inside a clip. I've tried turning on and off every combination of snapping features (i.e. quantize to frames, snap to markers, snap to grid, snap to all events) but nothing seems to work. Is this the way that it is supposed to work? Please advise. Thank you.

little, yellow, different,

I've never tried snapping to the embedded markers. There *IS* a "Promote Media Markers" script which will bring the markers in the media up to the timeline. You could promote the markers and then it would snap to the new markers on the timeline.

Thanks. That helps. But I'd still like to be able to move the clip and snap to the markers. It sounds like that is just the way it works. From reading the help files I got the impression that internal event media markers would allow snapping with other events on the timeline.

Where is this? I'd like to read it for myself.
