There are numerous Vegas Pro 8 users who have been plagued by the Red/Black Frame Bug that has all but brought many of us VP8 users to a stand still.
It appears SCS has been monitoring the issues raised on the Vegas forums and has released a "BETA" m2tsplug.dll reader to replace the one installed with VP8.0b. Looks to be that this will be a part of the 8.0c update due out later this summer (or winter for your folks down under).
Check out the thread (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=602126&Replies=88) and find the download link in the thread and test it. I recommend not deleting the current version of this file - but instead rename it just in case.
So far - those who were experiencing this work stopping glitch (myself Included) have found that this beta m2tsplug.dll file has resolved issues I and others were experiencing.
