I have a friend who went on holidays with his girlfriend, they just got back last week, they have a SD Panasonic camcorder that uses MinDV tapes.
Here's the senerio, his girlfriend decided that the composition would look better in Portrait mode 3:4 instead of 4:3 aspect ratio, and later my friend did the same thing.

He asked me if there was a program to change from Portrait to landscape mode for video.
I said just put your TV on the side. What were you thinking?

Does anyone know if there is a programs? to correct this.

I don't know how much holiday footage there is.

I don't know enough to be able to say "Hi Yung" or "Hi Mah".

Can't help with your pals 4:3 problems, well beyond my league, I'm afraid.

I updated all my info on the contact now, so I'm no longer a ghost, sorry, but my website is not up to date, I am leaving to go to Bali in August, and sometime in September or October, I am having surgery on my left shoulder for a SLAP tear, so I will have 6 weeks to recover and edit photos from all my other dive trips, and upload to my website, since I won't be working. I am actually a still photographer but getting into Video.

Any decent NLE can rotate the footage by 90 degrees.

For somebody here who is familiar with the lower-cost NLE programs, is there a "rotate 90 degrees" function within any of them? I haven't touched the consumer apps in quite awhile.

If lower cost NLEs won't do it, then use free software - I just checked, VirtualDub can do it.
