The first time I connected my HV30 to my Mac Final Cut Pro wouldn't recognize it, but it showed up under Firewire in the System Profiler on my Mac. After playing with the camera menu settings to try and get Final Cut Pro to recognize it, it now no longer shows up in the System Profiler no matter what settings I use. So I have some questions for you HV30 owners.

First, when you have your camera powered on in "PLAY" mode without a Firewire cable attached, and you go into the menus, is the AV->DV menu option greyed out and unavailable or not? If I have the PLAYBACK STD set to HDV it automatically makes the AV->DV menu option unavailable.

Second, what are the settings in the camera menu that you use when capturing HDV footage? I currently cannot change the AV->DV setting, but I have PLAYBACK STD set to "HDV", TV TYPE set to "16:9", COMP. OUT set to "1080i", DV OUTPUT set to "HDV/DV". Is that basically what you guys are using?

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow, update. So after fighting with this until 3am last night, and posting about it 5 minutes ago, I decided to hook it up one more time for kicks. Now it's working. I didn't change a thing. I don't know whether to be happy about this or not, lol.
