I recently upgraded from my old Vegas 6 to 7 and I'm editing a 30 min show and I've created elements in 6 that I've had issues with 7 reading. Just about the time I think I have it all working together I'm printing to tape and get an Application Error. It shuts down and now every time I try to open the project I get to 39% and WHAM I get an error message that reads... 39%-Untitled-Sony Vegas 7.0: vegas 70.exe- Application Error.. in the blue bar then the message reads... The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x3583409b. Anyone got any insights on this I've rebooted etc.. trying to get the project to open and nothing works yet. Appreciate any thoughts. I am editing with a lot of nested stuff, like show open & close, commercial spots etc. Which were created in Vegas 6. I'm at an empass.

This is the first time I've put Vegas to this kind of work out, I usually edit on Avid but with the budget I had and I wanted to put my old Vegas to the test- It's not going so well.

Can you just finish this one in Vegas 6? Just to get it out the door and then try starting fresh in Vegas 7?

Have you updated to the latest version of 7?

You might try rendering out the nested pieces and then putting the renders on the final timeline to see if removing the nesting would help. It could be that nesting from the older version might be causing an issue.

I'd spend my time trying to figure out what's in your timeline at "39%" that Vegas consistenly doesn't like.

And yes... it's never a good idea to work on projects created with earlier versions of any application.
