In Adobe Premiere Elements, during editing I was able to zoom in on SD clips of a soccer game to create a DVD of highlights of a game when the master video was taken from a fairly wide perspective, but with significant loss of image quality. I have started using a Canon Vixia-100, with the idea that, given the marked increase in image information in ACVHD, I should be able to zoom in on ACVHD video images without as much loss of image quality. The image quality is great, but I am editing with Pinnacle Studio Plus 11 and can't find a similar feature in this software to zoom in on a clip and capture only part of the image. Is there a way to do this in Pinnacle or can someone recommend a different software package that will allow me to zoom and capture within a clip? Thanks.

I have Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 and use that feature myself, as I find it's great for getting closer to the action when I've been zoomed out a bit to make sure I don't miss anything, though my cam shoots in HDV rather than AVCHD. The Vegas MSP 8 does support AVCHD, so you might want to try the 30 day trial and see if it works for you.

Thanks for that info.
