Hello All,
I just purchased a Dell Dimension XPS with built in Firewire (system hasn't arrived yet). Problem is, I need some extra money to get other little things such as a DVD Burner, etc. So I'm scrapping my old computer (1.3ghz) in parts and selling.
I had originally bought a Pyro Platinum DV (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005NSH3/qid=1059754325/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/102-2086141-5369745?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846) for around $300.
Since my new computer comes with a built in firewire card (on the Audigy2 Sound card), does it matter whether I have this Pyro capture card? From reading posts in this forum, it seems that it doesn't matter if you have a $500 dollar card or a wimpy $20 firewire card--they are all the same when it comes to input/output. Of course, Real Time cards are where the differences are.
So, Should I sell the Pyro for much needed cash?
