Hi,

I wonder if someone here who has used these two cameras. In that case; is the sensor the same on H1a and the A1? Is the image that these cameras produce exactly the same?

More or less is the deferens; interchangeable lens mount, cosmetics etc...

Thanks!

These articles should get you started:
Canon XH Series Watchdog (http://www.dvinfo.net/canonxh/watchdog.php)
Canon XL H1 Watchdog (http://www.dvinfo.net/canonxlh1/watchdog.php)

You know, I don't want to get torched for this, but in my experience with both, the H1 just seems to look slightly better. I know it shouldn't and my tests are not scientific, but when cutting on a timeline with both cameras I try to use the H1 as much as possible as it seems to have better color and seems cleaner. Both cameras were at same settings, at least as close as they can get.

I am sure the A1 technically is every bit as good as the H1, but so far, the XLh1 footage just looks cleaner to me.

Well you get better glass on the XL to begin with, however we've shot numerous two camera set-ups with both the H1 and the A1 and if you put a blindfold over me and turned me around a few dozen times, I'd be pressed to tell you which came from which cam.

I love both but for the price point, I'd do more A1's over the H1's.
