i've been using this encoder for awhile with only minor problems here and there. but i've been trying to encode my most recent project, and it always stops in the same point. i think its an audio problem. i looked at the avid audio file, and video file, and don't see anything wrong. so i set the audio bitrate lower to see what would happen, and it encoded all the way through, but there is a loud, annoying, high pitched sound in all the audio. the pic looks fine. i don't know where to go from here.

i'm using avid, outputting a quick time reference (no codec), and using that file in tmpgenc.

ultimately, i'm going to take this encoded file into ulead dvd workshop. i know i can encode it there, but i don't want to use that program to encode.

any suggestions?

i know there is that site that nicely lays out all of the setting for this program, but it doesn't give any for the audio. what do most people set the bitrate at?

I have no Avid experience and don't know what file extension it gives to audio files. Is it one that TMPGEnc lists under "compressible audio" in the Audio Source window? If not, could you export your audio to wav and feed that to the encoder?

At least an older version of TMPGEnc had some known issues with
audio and a lot of people advice to user other soft for that indeed.

Can you please tell what fileformat you are feeding into TMPGEnc
and what audio codec is being used? DiVX and mp3 audio has
known problems for example.

I'm using the new 2.5 version of TMPGEnc and I'm trying to feed .mov (quick time reference) files into it. I've also tried feeding .aiff files into it.

I don't know if there is any audio codex?!? I'm taking everything strait from a quick time ref in AVID Xpress.

Try outputting an audio file from Avid (such as a WAV file). Then
use the reference quicktime for the video and the WAV file for
audio. Does that work?
