I was wondering what technique they used to color that little girl in Shindler's List, I know it's used all over the place, but how could I duplicate this w/ DV?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. Chris Hurd August 9th, 2003, 10:08 PM It'll involve some post production. Do you edit on PC or Mac? Paul Tauger August 9th, 2003, 10:16 PM Go to this website: http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/index.htm There's a nice tutorial on how to do this effect. Chris Hurd August 9th, 2003, 10:30 PM Specifically, see http://www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial/tutdes_colorpass.htm Excellent link -- thanks Paul, Jake McMurray August 26th, 2003, 01:59 AM in Vegas under one of the color correcting tools, there is a preset for "desaturate all but red" I suppose you could do that manually. Just don't have anything red in the shot that you don't want to be red. Glenn Chan August 26th, 2003, 07:14 PM In Vegas use the secondary color corrector to just color correct a narrow spectrum of color. One trick is to de-saturate all the colors except for the girl. There should be various viewing modes to help you out (without CC, after CC, and a black white mode showing which pixels of the picture are being affected). Or you can emphasize the girl and leave the rest of the picture alone or slightly desaturated. |
