At home I am on Windows in Adobe, at school on a Mac in FCP. I want to be able to capture all of my footage off of my camera from this weekend's shoot at home and take in the clips on a flash drive so I can get right into editing on Monday without all the hassle. In Adobe, the files are all captured to .avi. If I take these files and import them into FCP, will I still have the same quality as if I captured directly with FCP?

yep, quality will always be the same no matter what machine you use the files on. The only time you have to worry about losing quality is when your machine converts your files to a different format, but for a simple transfer of video files from one machne to another you have nothing to worry about.
