Hello. After living in Osaka for six years as a full-time copywriter and part-time video guy, I decided to move to Tokyo to pursue work as a full-time video guy and, need it be, part-time copywriter. Actually I'm living just outside Tokyo in Kanagawa. Is there anyone in the area who would like to get together and talk shop, work on some projects, or just hang out? Send me an e-mail.

Yo Rob,
wassup!!! welcome back to the boards, although you live in Tokyo now, remember, deep down inside you are still an Osaka Boy, Osaka rules!!! Any learning of Tokyo Ben will be result in a strict yet fair punishment.

If you are nice to John, maybe he'll let you play with his Glidecam.

I just got my XL-1 back from the shop, just in time for my shoot in Kyoto tomorrow. Although everyone seems to be or go to Tokyo, I'm still here in the Big O holding down the fort.

Have you called Blake yet? Expect a call from Yoshimi sometime in the near future. Have fun up north.

BTW, your signature still says Osaka, Japan. See, your body may be in Tokyo, but your soul belongs to Osaka.

Rob,

I'm down in Chigasaki if you are keen for a beer and a chin-wag.

Welcome! I live in Shimokitazawa, TOkyo, work in Shibuya.
Strange I'm the only non-gaijin video guy here. Oh well. Would be cool to talk to all you guys.
Adrian, have you gone over to the beach house Sputnik (Tsujido)yet? They just built a skate pool there.
John, I have to call you up too. Thanks for all your advice.
Yoroshiku,
Takeshi

Up late aren't you? I still have to cycle back home!
I had to email Nukuisan to see if I can be a crew member of this. Let's see if we can arange a observer tour again. All the shots are carefully lit up with 1.2w HMI's Kino-flos, etc. He uses half amber filters and Black pro-mist filters on the camera.

BTW I'm freelance, but in this production group Evolution cafe. Located in Yoyogi-Hachiman or Shibuya. No garantee I'll be here, but call me up when you're in the area.

Thanks, Takeshi. This is early for me!

I'd love to go on an observation tour. Let me know if there's another slot.

I'll have to check the skate pool out Takeshisan. There was a vert ramp there last year. I've just recently picked up a 15mm fisheye lens for my EOS camera and have been waiting to shoot some skating with it.

I'd be interested in checking out the lighting set up as well.

I don't get up to Tokyo much anymore but if your coming down this way let me know.

This year's Sputnik skate ramp.

Gets better every year... too bad it's their last year : (
The fisheye lens should be great. How does it look through the XL1? Wide enough? Do you have samples posted on the web?

Unfortunately it won't work on the XL. With the 7.2x mag factor it would just look through the center and you would get very little if any distortion.

It works beautifully on my EOS 1nRS though. I'm going to head to Sputnik tomorrow if the weather holds and will let you know if I get some good shots.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

John, thanks for the call!

Rik, don't worry; I won't be losing my Osaka accent anytime soon! I got a call from Blake a few weeks ago. We were supposed to meet before Obon, but I haven't heard back from him since. That's what happens when you have a girlfriend, I guess ;)

Adrian, sorry for my ignorance to the Kanto area, but where exactly is Chigasaki? I'm always up for a beer!

Takeshi, I'm not too far from you (on the Odakyu line near Ikuta). I'm really interested in the Ketsuzoku film. Are they still shooting? Can anyone attend the shootings?

Chigasaki is in south western Kanagawa in the Shounan coastal district. It's on the JR Tokaido Line two stops south of Fujisawa

Okay, I've been to the Shonan area before. How long have you been living there? It must be nice living near coast.

It beats living in Tokyo, no way I could handle that. I've been here for a little over two years. It's nice to have the beach only a bike ride away even if the surf is rarely good.
