There was a rumour awhile back that Tiffen was going to come out with a cheaper matte box aimed at the DV market. Anyone have anymore information on that?

Product development and release may be slowed by their Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

We'll see,,, according to my good friends at Tiffen, they have been out of Chapter 11 for a couple months.

John, are you looking for a new matte box? Lemme know, ok? Email me if you want.

A company called Topspin Partners (http://www.topspinpartners.com/home.html), purchased all of Tiffens assests out of bankruptcy. This is a rather recent development, just happening in the last couple of days

It's hard to get info from Tiffen but they lowered the price on their Filterflex box. It's the same idea as the Brit matte boxes, they don't use filter frames. The good part is all of the holes are capped , unlike the Kestrel, Lee and Format and the shade is a reasonable size (In a high wing the format or Kestrel will fly).

it's well built but pricey, I received a quote for $600 plus $80 for the flag. Try Cavision, there stuff is getting better. Their latest is pretty good, I bought one.
