I am using the HV30 with the Raynox DCR-6600Pro wide angle lens and a 43mm to 52mm step up ring. The DCR-6600Pro is the same as the Raynox HD-6600Pro-52.

I'm noticing my footage looks a little soft.

Prior to owning a wide angle lens I'd set manual focus by zooming in to the furthest object, set my manual focus, then zoom back out.

The DCR-6600Pro does not allow you to zoom all the way in and still have a sharp image. My question is: what's the proper way to set focus w/ a wide angle lens such as the DCR-6600Pro?

Thanks,
Rastus

everything is the same but you simply can't jump beyond it's limit which is 1/2 way through the zoom range. that means....
- zoom in to about 1/2 way
- frame your shot
- zoom back to full wide
- shoot, zooming in to 1/2 way.
- stop shooting
I 'mark' a Visual reference from the zoom display on the LCD ;) to know when to stop.
